When you think of the Earth, you may not realize how big it is. In fact, it’s so big that if you walked around it, you would need to walk for about 2 years. I’ll bet when you first read that sentence your eyebrows raised and a thought popped into your head.
That’s because we are used to thinking in terms of miles or kilometers but measuring distance on earth with feet is a lot more complicated than that!
According to Google Maps, it would take you about 344 days to walk around the earth.
This is a question that has been asked for many years (or at least since people started keeping track of time). The answer to this question will vary depending on who you ask. Some say it would take about 40,000 days and some say it would only take 14,500 days.
Have you ever been curious about the longest walk in the world? For some lucky people, they are able to experience this every day. The Camino de Santiago is a pilgrimage route that has existed for over 1,000 years. It stretches across 22 countries and spans an incredible 4,500 km!
The best part of it all is that anyone can do it- with as little or as much time as they have available. You only need to set aside one week and get on your way!
